Our construction classes offer students the opportunity to gain valuable skills and earn industry-recognized credentials. Students receive hands-on instruction from industry professionals who have decades of real-world knowledge. These courses dedicate the majority of their time to putting the skills and techniques taught in the classroom into practice.

Blueprint Reading & Estimating

Prerequisite: None
Corequisite: None

Blueprint reading is an essential skill for every trade in the construction industry. This course covers blueprint basics, specifications, site and architectural plans, quantity takeoffs, and pricing. CEU: 8.4

Will be offered each Fall Semester.

Construction I

This course covers standard and alternative building methods. Topics include safety, footings and foundations, floor and wall framing. Upon completion, students should be able to safely erect all framing necessary to begin roof framing. Textbook: Core and Carpentry Level 1 ISBN鈥檚: 978-0-137-483341 and 978-0-137-699971 CEU; 9.6

Construction Project Management

Prerequisite: None
Corequisite: None

Students will gain management, problem-solving, planning, estimating, safety supervision, and scheduling skills necessary to work as a construction supervisor or job foreman.

Will be offered each Fall Semester.

Forklift Operator

Prerequisite: None
Corequisite: None

Earn the National Safety Council鈥檚 (NSC) lift truck operator certification by successfully completing this class. Minimum age is 18. CEU: 0.8

General Contractors Update & CE Classes

Prerequisite: None
Corequisite: None

This course provides General Contractors with the necessary 8 hours of Continuing Education needed to renew licenses. This includes the 2025 Mandatory Course which is required for your 2026 Renewal. CEU 0.8

Will be offered Fall Semester 2026.

Core & OSHA 10

Prerequisite: None
Corequisite: None

NCCER Core & OSHA 10 is a prerequisite/co-requisite to Level 1 Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing,鈥疻elding, and Sprinkler Fitting classes. Modules include basic safety, communication skills and an introduction to construction drawings.

Will be offered each Spring, Summer and Fall Semester.
